ADB My View Asia-Pacific Video Contest on Renewable Energy


Join the ADB My View Asia-Pacific Video Contest and get a chance to win 3000 US dollars! 2nd and 3rd place winners will also get to receive cash prizes. The theme for this year is on renewable energy.


This contest is open to citizens in any of the 67 ADB member countries (Philippines included).

Contest rules and guidelines:


Overview

The content of the video must be about renewable energy, energy for all, or another energy-related theme in Asia and the Pacific.
Videos must be 1 - 5 minutes in length.
All video entries must be uploaded to either YouTube.com or Youku.com.
Videos must be submitted between 21 November 2011 and 21 February 2012.
All contestants must register here.

Rules & Conditions (partial)

1. Eligibility: any citizen of any ADB member country*, who is interested in renewable energy can join. Participants must produce and upload a short digital film about renewable energy in Asia and the Pacific, and fill out an online registration form. Employees of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, sibling, child, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin and respective spouses, etc.) and those living in their immediate households, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter the competition or win awards.

2. Deadline for submissions is 21 February 2012.


3. The submitted entry must meet the category outlines as they appear in the competition details.

4. The competition is specifically intended for new films only. Films produced and/or screened prior to 21 November 2011 will not be accepted.

5.  ADB will accept films of any production value including mobile phone and films of any genre, e.g. animation, documentary, drama, experimental, art, testimonial, etc. Judges will take into consideration all aspects of the work when making their decision.

6. Entrants may submit more than one entry but each entry must be submitted on a separate application form.

7. The video must be between 1 minute and 5 minutes long.

8. The stories can be provided in any language. However, entrants are strongly encouraged to include subtitles and a full length script in English, in order to facilitate public outreach and the contest process.
Each video must be the entrant's original work, in its entirety, and must not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any other third party, regardless of country of residence. It is the entrant's responsibility to clear all aspects of copyright - not only video content, but music and other content as well.

9. If in doubt, do not use. If uncleared material is detected in submitted entries, they will be automatically disqualified. Please note that as the entries will be uploaded to YouTube (or on Youku in the People's Republic of China), that YouTube "respects the rights of copyright holders and publishers and requires all users to confirm that they own the copyright or have permission from the copyright holder to upload content."

Grand Prize (best overall): US$ 3,000

Judging:

Award winning applications will be selected following pre-selections done in-house by ADB renewable energy and media experts. Final awards and judging will be made by the judging panel of experts.

Notes:
- expect tougher competition in this international contest.

- ADB reserves the right to disqualify entries based on copyright infringement and intellectual property. As a rule of thumb, if unsure, don't use images, music or videos of other people and integrate it into your video entry.

- videos made before November 21, 2011 are disqualified from the contest.
- Filipino video enthusiasts are welcome to join.
- Deadline for this contest is on February 21, 2012
