Solo Online Model Search 2011

Solo, a Philippine apparel brand is having their annual model search. 2 model winners will get a chance to win 20,000 pesos cash and 15,000 worth of GCs from Solo. Two Graphic Artists will also get a chance to win 10,000 pesos cash and 15,000 worth of GCs from solo (one for male and one for female model)


This contest is open to Philippine residents.

Contest is from September 1 – November 30, 2011. Submission of entries until November 30. Voting of entries ends on December 2, 2011

2. After registration, an email will be sent to you with your username and password. Use these details to login the Contest site.

3. Once logged in, you may be able to download the Solo Design Pack (click the Download button below, or enter in url tab: http://www.solo.com.ph/modelsearch2011/
system/files/sites/default/files/secured_file/files/solo-design-pack.zip. Download time may vary depending on you your connection speed. Please be patient, we have provided you with a large selection of vectors to choose from.

4. Create your entry using any image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or GIMP.

5. When you're ready to submit, log in the Contest site and upload your entry via the Submit Tab, along with the name of your photo entry, model and photographer/graphic artist. Your entry will be screened by our moderators and will be uploaded on to the Gallery within 2 days upon submission.

7. Winners will be Best Male and Best Female Photo Entries. Winners will include:
- Model for Winning Male Photo Entry
- Graphic Artist/Photographer for Winning Male Photo Entry

- Graphic Artist/Photographer for Winning Female Photo Etry

Both Model winners will receive P20,000 in cash and P15,000 Solo Gift Certificates and both Graphic Artists/Photographers will receive P10,000 in cash and P15,000 Solo Gift Certificates. Should an individual entry wins, he/she will receive both prizes for winning model and winning graphic artist/photographer.

Both Model winners will receive P 20,000 in cash and P 15,000 Solo Gift Cerfticates each and both Graphic Artist/Photographer winners will receive P 10,000 cash and P 15,000 Solo Gift Cerfticates. Should an individual wins, he/she will receive both prizes for winning model and winning graphic artist/photographer.


Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:

30% Voter’s Choice and 70% Solo’sChoice
40% for Being Photogenic,
20% for Creativity and Styling and
10% Layout

for a total of 100%.

The highest scorers: 10 Male Photo Entries and 10 Female Photo Entries will be the finalists.(Date and Time of judging of entries and determination of winners, see Item No. 15)

Giordano Typography Tee Design Contest

Join the Giordano Typography Tee Design Contest and get a chance to win 25,000 pesos and Giordano gift certificates. Prizes also await the runner-ups for this contest. To join, submit a t-shirt design that interprets the theme "World Without Strangers".


This contest is open to all Filipinos 15 years old and above.


Contest Mechanics:

1. The Giordano Typography Tee Design Contest is open to all Filipino men and women age 15 and above. Designs must revolve around the theme: “World Without Strangers” adapted to men’s or women’s style or unisex orientation. Designs should strictly be a Statement Tee or a Typographic Tee or a combination of both. Body colour of the shirt may vary but the design itself should be limited to a maximum of 5 colors.

2. Submitted designs must be done in electronic format either by Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Freehand format. They must be original designs, not previously released or used by any other entity.

3. Contestant must sign the waiver together with the entry design. By signing the waiver, the contestant agrees to the Terms and Conditions of the contest, governing rights and procedures. Waivers are available in all Giordano stores nationwide and on the Giordano Philippines Official Facebook Page. (Click here to get the waiver in JPEG format.)

4. A contestant can submit up to a maximum of three (3) designs. The contestant can opt to submit his or her designs in two ways:

a. Submit in any Giordano store nationwide
b. Mail entries to:

All entries must be placed in one short brown envelope:

- 2 Colored Print Outs of the design

Cushe T-shirt design contest

For those who have talent in designing apparel or are just naturally artistic, join the Cushe T-shirt design contest! Grand winner will receive 5,000 pesos plus Cushe shoes and flip-flops.


This contest is open to all residents in the Philippines.

Contest Mechanics

1. The design must be primarily be applicable for black shirts, although designs that work with other colors will also be considered.

2. The design must emphasize the "Cushe Life" philosophy. Read more about it here...

3. The design must contain the Cushe Lozenge Logo and must incorporate at least one Cushe shoe. The shoe may be manipulated in any way provided it is still noticeably a Cushe shoe. The Cushe Lozenge Logo and list of approved shoes can be downloaded here. Visit www.cushe.com to see the actual shoes.

4. Designs must be submitted in jpeg format with a resolution of 150dpi or higher and must not exceed 10mb. The jpeg file must contain the actual t-shirt graphic on black background as well as a mock-up of the final shirt design.

5. Shirts will be printed using the silk-screening method and thus submissions must be created with this in mind.

6. There would be 2 categories:

a) Men's tee
b) Women's tee

Winners will receive:
- 5,000 pesos cash.
- a pair of Cushe shoes
- a pair of Flip Flops

Runners-up will receive:
- receive a pair of Cushe shoes.

7. The contest is open to all residents of the Philippines. Contestants may submit as many designs as they want provided that each design is thoroughly unique. Shirt designs that have been printed prior to being entered into the contest will not be accepted.

8. The designs will be judged based on:

Contest Concept

Send us your Photo Artworks that showcases one of the 7 Dark Temptations of Rebisco Choco Mucho. Your entries must be original, creative, and billboard-ready. Plus, make sure to use elements of “Color Red” in your entries.

Choose among the 7 Dark Temptations: Seduction, Motion, Freedom, Satisfaction, Sensation, Love, and Style/Fashion. And shoot a photo representing one of these 7 temptations. Interpretations are boundless and we encouraged you to come up with the most creative, fresh, and exciting entry.

Eligibility

1. Contest is open for Filipinos, 16 years old and above, for both male and female.

2. Amateurs and Professionals alike can send entries for the contest.

3. Photographers: get your own model, shoot your own entry and submit it.

Non-Photographers: have a photographer shoot a photo of you, have it edited, and submit it.

1. Entries previously entered into other competition, or has been published is not eligible for the contest.

2. The use of DSLR is strongly recommended. Entries taken using digital cameras will also be permitted provided that the image is not pixilated and must have good resolution.

General Mechanics

2. All entries, taken using DSLR or digital camera, should undergo post-production, and must conform to the DPI and size requirements.

3. Entries must have the image of the product: Rebisco Choco Mucho Dark Chocolate (as part of the picture), and must contain elements of color Red.

5. Description for the submitted entries must contain the following:
i. Category (choose: Seduction, Motion, Freedom, Satisfaction, Sensation, Love, Style/Fashion)
ii. Full name of the contestant
iii. Title/Explanation of the Photo Artwork submitted
iv. All valid, approved and accepted entries will be posted at the Official Contest page on Facebook by the Administrators.
v. A notification message will be sent to the contestants informing them that their entry is valid. Entries that failed to meet various requirements and are considered invalid will also receive a message containing points for invalidity of the entry.

6. Rebisco reserves the right to reject images that are obscene, inappropriate and does not conform to the rules and regulations of the contest mechanics. Panel's decision is final.

Entry Formats

1. Submitted entries must contain an image of the product: Choco Mucho Dark Chocolate;

2. It must also have an element of Red and must in accordance with one of the 7 Dark Temptations. (7 Dark Temptations: Seduction, Motion, Freedom, Satisfaction, Sensation, Love, Style/Fashion)

3. All entries must be post-produced and should be formatted to 300 dpi or higher. Images should be submitted in JPG (at high quality) or TIFF format. Size must not be lower than 800 x 600 pixels in landscape, and should have a maximum file size of 1MB.

4. Entries must be print-ready and must undergone necessary editing.

5. Enhancing the entries using digital images, vectors and other elements is allowed.

Photographer/Copyright Entries must be submitted by the original photographer, or with the permission of the Photographer who took the photo.

Number of Entries An individual may submit only one photo per category/7 Dark Temptation. However, he/she can submit one entry each for ALL 7 categories. (E.g. one entry for Seduction, one entry for Freedom and so on)

Photo Subject Restrictions Photos must be appropriate for posting on a public website. Obscene and otherwise questionable content will not be considered. Rebisco retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.

Personal thoughts / reminders:
- based on the rules, this contest is strict with entry submissions. Read through the guidelines before submitting your entry.
- you can submit multiple entries but take note: ONLY 1 ENTRY per category.
- your entry can be digitally manipulated, meaning, there is no limit to using digital art techniques and effects.
- although Rebisco wants us contestants to be creative with our artwork, 70% of the total weight will come from FB likes. This kind of trend for me detracts real digital artists with talent because not all with talent will have the chance to rally a multitude of votes. Still, there is that 30% control from Rebisco who will decide the overall winners. There is also that tendency for non-winning contestants (or their supporters) who will get a lot of votes to protest (troll, sourgrape, complain, etc.) if someone with talent wins without the votes to back him/her up.

Solo Model Search 2010

Join the Solo Model Search 2010 and get to win 20,000 pesos in cash and 15,000 worth of GCs from Solo. Similar to last year's model search, Solo now launched this year's model search with the theme "Slice of Life" with the works of cartoonist Larry Alcala.

There is also a category for photographer / digital artist with a cash prize of 10,000 pesos and 15,000 worth of GCs at stake.

This contest is open to males or females at least 18 years and residing in the Philippines.

Contest Mechanics and guidelines:

* Male or Female, at least 18 years old, residing in the Philippines
* Contestant can be an individual or a team which consists of a model and a graphic artist/photographer.
* Doesn’t have a modeling contract/endorsement contract with a clothing line or competing label.
* Submitted images should follow the specifications below:

- 450 x 573 pixels
- at least 72 DPI resolution
- JPEG file

* Entries must be submitted between August 22, 2010 to October 31, 2010. Voting ends November 15.

PHOTO SET UP

* One or several of the supplied design element from the vectors packet which can be download from the Mechanics page may be part of your submission.

* All Larry Alcala vectors, images and design elements may NOT be used outside this contest.

Wacom Industrial Design Contest

The Wacom Kids and Pets Photography contest was recently concluded and now, a new contest is being held at Wacom Asia. Called the Wacom Indsutrial Design Contest, the objective is to design either an industrial contraption like (e.g. vehicle) or a fashion design concept. Just like the previous contest, the winners will receive their very own Wacom Intuos Tablet.


* For non-digital artists reading this, a Tablet is a device that can help you draw on-screen.

All residents of Asia Pacific countries (does not include China, Hong Kong or Japan). You may only submit one entry per person.

Contest Mechanics and guidelines:

Contest Period: 4th Jun - 30th July, 2010 (ends 11:59 pm, Tokyo time)
Theme: Industrial Design

Category: - 2 categories

1) Vehicle Award:
Cars, airplanes, trains, motorcycles, buses, bicycles or even "transformer" vehicles and so on!

2) Fashion award:
Clothes, dresses, jewelry, shoes, nails, even cosmetics - anything related to fashion

Please be original and respect copyrights. Fan-art, designs, characters, clothes, tools (and so on) based on existing movies, manga, games etc. will not be accepted! Also, please note there is a limit of only one entry per person.

*Note: All winners will be eligible for inclusion in Wacom advertising with artist credit, upon confirmation of hi-resolution photo.

Personal Note: As of the moment, only few have submitted their entries. Btw, if you look at the previous winning contest entries of Wacom-Asia, you will see Wacom's standards are quite high. But even if you are not that good in digital art, joining and comparing your work against the other entries might motivate you to hone your artistic skills more. Also, don't be discouraged that this is open to Asia-Pacific countries. There were noteworthy Filipino winners in Wacom's contests in the past.

If you're sucked into the world of the Twilight series, and have some collage making skills, why not try out for Powerbooks Eclipse Fan Art contest. 3. Fan Art Terms & Conditions:

* Create an Eclipse-themed, digital artwork using different approaches like vectors, collages, traditional art, cartoons, 3D graphics, or combination of any of these techniques. You may use any image editing software.
* Traditional art such as illustrations/drawings/paintings, etc. will also be accepted as long as these are scanned by the Participant. Powerbooks will not accept hard copy files.
* All entries should be the participant's original interpretation of the contest theme and not lifted from other sources. Powerbooks will not be held liable for any copyright infringement committed by the participant.
* Participants have the freedom to interpret the contest theme as creative and imaginatively possible provided that they stay true to the theme.
* The entry should not have been previously entered into any other competition.
* Participants give Powerbooks the right to upload their artworks for the website & other promotional activities.

5. Artworks will be uploaded in Facebook on July 15, 2010 for voting. The three (3) winners will each win an Eclipse Movie Companion + The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.
6. Criteria for Judging:

* 50%: number of "likes" votes from the fan page
* 50%: overall appeal of submitted artwork (from judges' votes)

7. Three (3) winners will be chosen at the end of the promo and will be announced in the Powerbooks Facebook Fan site.

Claiming of prizes:

1. To claim their prizes, winners will have to proceed to Powerbooks Greenbelt 4 and present a valid ID.
2. The prizes will be given to the winners for FREE provided that these terms are met:

* The winners must personally claim the prize.
* The prizes are non-transferable and not convertible to cash.

Personal Note: Since online voting is 50% of the criteria, you should ask all your friends to vote for you because not making it to one of those with the most votes (probably top 5 with the most number?), you will not have a chance to win this - even if you made the "best" artwork in the objective / technical sense. But still, if you want the prize, this contest is worth trying.

Deadline is on July 14, so there is still a lot of time to make your artwork.

Wacom Kids and Animals Photo Contest

Wacom Asia has another photo contest - The Wacom Kids and Animals Photo Contest! It does'nt matter if you're a pro or beginner... this contest is worth a try!

All you have to do is submit a photo of either kids, animals or both!

Winning entry for the previously concluded Wacom Smiles Photo Contest

Contest Period: 16th Apr - 31st May, 2010 (ends 11:59 pm, Tokyo time)


The contest has two categories, namely:

a) digital photo competition
Simply take a photo or either children, animals, or both, then submit it to our contest. Some post-production such as lighting adjustment is allowed, but please try to maintain the original photograph as much as possible.

b) photo Collage Competition
Make a photo collage featuring children, animals, or both in a scrapbook style. For this category, please feel free to include text or handwritten messages as well as other scrapbook elements.

Both categories need to have a reduced resolution of 72 dpi before submitting the entries.

The prize is a Wacom tablet for each category.
